Re ticket #RUX-39918-740

I received a response that a technician corrected the issue. However, this is not the case. Please have someone address my concerns and read my response this morning. Thank you. Respectfully, Jason

As you requested, I re-published my website and "NOTHING" has changed.

I have tried to explain my situation "AS CLEARLY" as possible.

I cannot begin to explain my frustration with rvsitebuilder and JustHost. I cannot get anyone to address what appears to be a bug in the RVsitebuilder software.

I want to make it clear that I used the WYSIWG editor in rvsitebuilder to create my website. This is a code-generated software, as I am sure you are aware. So any bugs have to do with the way the software creates the code.

I will try to explain my situation again. Please, please, please "READ" my complaint/issue very clearly. I "DO NOT" have any more time to deal with this glitch. Unfortunately, it has taken someone two weeks to address my concerns, which I feel is unacceptable.

My issue:

I created my website using rvsitebuilder, using Firefox to preview and publish the website. However, when I display my website in IE 7, there are "many" structural issues, in terms of vertical alignment that are changed and distorted( please check several pages on the website). I have experimented on several computers using different IE versions--IE7, IE8.

In IE 8 the site displays fine with the exception of one of my contact forms (built in rvsitebuilder, WYSWYG editor) not displaying certain cell lines, which is how I identified that the website is out of alignment in places in IE 7 (see attached screenshot). To view this form visit: http://www.hyerdriven.com/test/Coaching-Evaluation-Form.php

This is probably most important:
However, when I click the compability key in IE 8 ( which means this is IE7) the contact form displays as I created it, but other sections of my website then become distorted in IE 7, please see the attached screenshots.

In summary, there are vertical alignment issues in IE 7; and with the way in which the "Coaching Satisfaction Survey" is rendered in IE 8. Whichever changes you made did "not" effect any changes.

There appears to be a glitch (aka "bug")in the way in which IE is rendering the scripting commands from rvsitebuilder/JustHost. I implore you to please investigate this further and correct my issue. Can you please make this issue a priority. As I have stated, I have dealt with more heartache with this issue than is necessary!!!! Thank you for your understanding. Respectfully, Jason

Sounds like many of the same issues I'm having with my sites, but the problems are horizontal, not vertical. And one of my problems shows in both IE and Firefox.

Wow...I've only waited 4 days for a response and I thought that was a long time. Sounds like I'm better off just trying to do everything within a wordpress format (which is not what I need) rather than to spend so many hours trying to get my websites to work when it has nothing to do with an error on my part...it's on rvsitebuilder's part.

These technicians are remarkable although they don't work on "our" time tables. It appears they have many issues to contend with. I have learned much greater patience in this process. Hold tight. They will resolve your issues. They are this good. Best of luck. JDH

Help. I've spent months putting my site together through JustHost C-panel with Firefox. Previews and pages loaded just fine---in Firefox.
When I was informed that my site looked messed up I realized it was only in Internet explorer that horizontal mis-aligments were taking place. Top menus covering side bars, pictures on top of one another. Everything out of sinc.

Why put all the hours into building a progam that is not compatible with the 2 of the most popular browsers out there?
I hope this oversight can be managed quickly. wink.gif

Best of luck to all having this problem.
Ps. anyone with any advice please email me. Greatly appreciated.

Hi Steve,

I can soooooooooooooo relate to your frustration. I, too, have experienced extreme cross-browser compatibility issues. From my unfortunate experiences, there are major issues with CSS style sheet rendering in IE. I would also suggest you view your website in Google Chrome and Safari.

I am not a developer at all. Just a small business owner trying to market his business. What I have also experienced is that if you copy and paste into the website from an external source, this will severely disrupt the coding that generates the rendering of the website by the respective browsers.

That being said, while rvsitebuilder technicians seem to be overloaded and respond in what appears to be a delayed time frame, they are awesome and resolving the issues.

My advice is to take screenshots of your issue and explain each issue to them "SPECIFICALLY" so they can go in the code and make the necesary adjustments.

My other and probably stronger advice and learned wisdom from my recent website nightmare, is to become good friends with someone who is a web developer/designer. One little comma being off in the code and through the whole page off. Crazy stuff.

There is hope even if it is not in your time frame. RVsitebuilder support has solved "ALL" of my glitches on the first try!!! All the best, my new friend!!!! I'm with you...Trust me. I feel your frustration..but keep the faith..and finish strong. Blessings, Jason Dobbs-Hyer.

We cannot help unless we not see your problem. What URL in the question?

I have been using Just Host for hosting as well and used RVsitebuilder to create website. I have the same issues as everyone else as far as IE compatibility. I built it using Firefox and everything seems normal; However, when using IE6-8 The web site doesn't look the same. There are different colorson my tables that are not in Firefox. There are hyperlinks added that do not work in IE. I have the latest version of RV sitebuilder as well but that doesn't change anything. Chrome is a little different. There are similarities in the web site with Firefox and Chrome, but there are still some issues as well with chrome just not as bad as IE. Hopefully something can be done about this. I have had to go back and redo many hours worth of creation just to have it usable for IE. sad.gif
