It would be nice to be able to write a description below or next to an image that is placed in the photo album. Is it possible to add this feature, as this would make the album much more useful.

Any progress on this? It seems you still can only have the filename as the description (which is ugly looking btw). I guess I'll have to just have my clients make their captions be the filename for now.

Currently one has very limited feature. We will develop our own photo album, AJAX style. This feature has been schedule after forums, and blog component are available.

Are you able to add features or modify the current photo gallery? If possible, after you upload your files, a form field next to each uploaded image listed could have it's own description field and a "Use filename as description" checkbox to the left of the delete checkbox. You could then put your own description in and click a submit button to the left of the delete button and the batch would update the current database description table.

I've included a link to a screen shot of my idea. (attachement function isn't working here)

Do you know when the forum and blog components will be finished? I'm looking forward to this new photo gallery you're talking about.

Nope, you're not the only one!

Newbie at this, and would have thought there would be some sort of tutorial or help link or something with regards to creating the photo gallery and how to set it up. But cannot find one single mention of photo gallery in any help section. I guess everyone just instinctvely knows how to do it correctly, even on a program that was made for those of us without knowledge of website design?

While the gallery from Pairote is finish, I have asked my customers to add a different gallery to the site, so, as in this website from a customer www.mocamboguate.com you can see that the coppermine gallery has been added to the web site. The best part of using an external gallery is that you can have another users to upload images while in RVSiteBuilder you can only add pictures inside CPanel and that could be a problem as you can't add users to upload pictures.

Any more info on this? This topic is over 1 1/2 years old and still no progress or info on it. There is a tons of great open source photo galleries out there in which the rv developers could integrate into rvsitebuilder.

http://gallery.menalto.com/
http://coppermine-gallery.net/
http://www.phpalbum.net/

Just to name a few.

Please let us know if this is even on the developers radar.

Thanks,
Ben

All of them are great. But their license prevent us integrate it on RVSiteBuilder. We decide to make our own.
