Hi,

I'd like to see integration for the ASSP deluxe script available here http://www.grscripts.com/

Looks like a great product and lots of people seem to be moving to this from spam assassin.

Its cPanel interface integration is not comform to cPanel standard. All addon icon should be listed in cell folder and should not edit /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x/mail/email.html manually. I see on the instruction chattr files is required. This will break other things. It should build as WHM Addon Module. In a near future especially after cPanel 11, he will figure it out and distribute as addon module. That time, you simply go to RVSkin Manager/Integration/WHM Addon Module.

They have no plans to write the script as an addon module.

He says...

You have simply to add a link to /asspdeluxe/index.php nothing else.

Is there any way I can do this ?

Is there away to add a custom icon I can display on all skins - without creating a new skin ?

In RVSkin Manager, create a new internal page using page editor. In this new page, place javascript redirection code to assp page. And then use Body link to create new icon to the newly create internal page.

@ rvskin developer

Hello

I am the developer of assp deluxe for cpanel . I received so many requests latest days from rvskin users that today I created an how to to use assp deluxe for cpanel on an rvskin theme.

http://www.grscripts.com/howtorvskin.html
It works also if the clients are forced to use chattr +i .

may I ask to rvskin developer to

1) create automatically links to "/asspdeluxe/index.php" if the "/asspdeluxe/index.php" folder is found

2) remove the "Email Domain Forwarders" links and icons if the "/asspdeluxe/index.php" folder is found

3) change the def.html page similar to this

if the "/asspdeluxe/index.php" folder is found

4) change the [b]fwds.html[b] page similar to this

if the "/asspdeluxe/index.php" folder is found

Is it possible ?

Thank you
Gabriel

Yes, we can support it. We can disable certain features and change its link on the fly if asspdelux detected. Please give me a test license on 72.36.193.218 (demo.rvskins.com). I read your integration and not sure what require to do with webmail interface. Webmail interface also be able to set the forwarder, and default address. On X, X2 not much you can do. But on X3, you can do the same link cPanel interface.

is this a rvskin feature ? If possible these should be deactivate too if /asspdeluxe/index.php is found.
In other words everything which points to "default address" should be deactivated.
With assp only local/existent email are allowed.

Thanks
Gabriel

Ok I have seen it (webmail) .I use a customized login for my clients for this reason I was not seeing it .
boxtrapper is not a problem because it should be disabled via WHM (it's a step required to install assp)
the forwarder link is not a problem too , in fact *email* forwarders *can* work with assp .
So there is no problem there (webmail)

Email Domain Forwarders cannot work with assp because they act like a default address .
Infact if you look my modified fwds.html rvskin page (screenshot above) I removed only the possibility to
enter a default address while I left possibility to add an email forwarder.

So ,the "problem" is only with the default address (email sent to random@domain.com) since
assp works with existent/local email (and killing all spam dictionary attacks) .

Regards
Gabriel

Can you tell me what problem this is ? Will customers still retain the ability to use the catch all feature ?

Can you clarify that the catch all feature will not work with ASSP - or it will not work with ASSP and RVSkin ?

i.e using ASSP on ANY cpanel theme - "default email address" is disabled ?

Thats good news. Using a catchall mailbox is bad practice.

Pairote, in light of the new possibility to use ASSP - could you please advise on the removal of the server wide components from your tutorial to clean the server in preparation for ASSP ?

Exactly assp can send and receive only to local/existent email addresses on the server.
All the dictionary spam sent to random_txt@clientdomain.com is only logged . The client
can analyze this log per domain and per subdomain.

@ Pairote : did you install assp deluxe fo cpanel on your server ?

Thanks

Ive been testing ASSP and I have to say its very very good. The whitelisting and reporting options on their own present a great benefit, not to mention the ease of use, ease of installation and of course the system reource savings over the current spamd solution.

I think that it would benefit all RVSkin customers to have the ability to integrate daniolo's script into the RVSkin themes and It can only be a positive selling point for RVSkin.

I strongly recommend that you two developers communicate to get this working because it really is a great product and can only be good for the cpanel community as a whole.

Pairote, if you could find some time to look into this, I'm sure many people would be very grateful to you.

Surely, I will support ASSP Deluxe. It seems better than SA.
