Thanks,

How can I move the project to a new user on a different server ?

The customer has two accounts - he designed the site using sitebuilder on his first cpanel account but wants to use it with his second account.

You have to move data from the old user of old server to the old user of new server first. And then use the provided instruction above to move to the new user.

Thanks but this will not work because the old user from old server is ot in the mysql database on the new server.

Scenario...

1. Customer has mydomain.com on server1 and creates a new project in rvsitebuilder

2. Same customer purchases new hosting plan myseconddomain.com on server2

3. Customer asks to move his project from mydomain.com hosting on server1 to myseconddomain.com hosting on server2

Problem with step1...

1. Browse the rvs_usr table, you should find the OLD_USERNAME in the user_name field. Update it to the NEW_USERNAME.

The user is not there because he exists only on server1 not on server2

Have you been able to get this to work?

To move a project of user A on the server A to user B on the server B. First you need to move project from user A on the server A to user A on the server B using migrate feature in RVSiteBuilder Manager. You can migrate only a users. And then using the instruction above to change the user name.

pariote, this isn't always possible. users are tied to domains, and you can't install the same domain on two different servers. people most billing systems are also "tied" to the username, givin the domain, so you can't just go and create different usernames.

I want to suggest that you might look at this from a different perspective, and see if you could maybe change the logic behind this?

Since v2.20, you can move project from one user to another (no matter it is on the same server or not) by creating backup file in backup project on the RVSiteBuilder user interface. Then go to another user RVSiteBuilder, and restore the backup file.
